Custom made mooring weights 

Bermuda Mooring Services have weights, chain, shackles and bridles for sale.  At BMS we started making our own weights several years ago.  It was getting increasingly more difficult to find good quality mooring weights.   It is important to note that just because something is heavy does not necessarily mean that it would make a good mooring weight.  The main things to consider when buying a mooring weight are weight, suitable attachment point , uniform and smooth shape to prevent chain from tangling around it.  

All of our weights are made of 4000 psi concrete with a fibre additive mixed in. There are two attachment points made of inch and a half ship chain that is cast into the concrete and secured with reinforcing rods.  Concrete loses approximately 40% of its weight in sea water therefore we sell our weights by the “wet pound”.
